According to the invite sent by Apple to the press, the event will take place on the company's campus in Cupertino on March 21, with the official presentation to kick off at 10:00 a.m.
Apple shares have increased 5 percent in the past two weeks as Wall Street bets the company this month will launch a less expensive iPhone to boost sales in developing countries like China.
The iPhone SE is expected to feature Bluetooth 4.2, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and VoLTE-connectivity features that are also available in iPhone 6s.
Other than that and the shortcuts offered by the 3D Touch display, you can expect the same user experience as you would find on the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S. Meaning, this 4-inch iPhone will be more affordable than its flashier siblings. It will be equipped with an 8-megapixel iSight camera with dual-LED flash and 1.3-megapixel frontal camera.
Although many rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 will not be revealed until September 2016, there are some who believe that it may be revealed on March 21.
If Apple chose to reveal a new iPad, it would likely be an iPad Air Pro.
As for the name of the new tablet, many think that Apple will not make it as the next edition in the iPad Air lineup but, instead, will opt to label it as the iPad Pro Mini.
The technology was used by the company in the Apple Watch and since the parts are more effectively shielded from interfering with each other, the phone can be fitted with more elaborate chips which frees up space for a larger battery.
It's also expected Apple will introduce a new iPad and possibly new Apple Watch band options (perhaps that's the loop-in clue?) and a number of hardware and software updates.
It is also been rumoured that Apple will lose the "bump" from the camera lens. A year ago it introduced the ultra-light, gold MacBook, which was notable for having just a single USB-C port.
By comparison, Internet behemoth Alphabet (GOOGL.O), whose Android mobile platform competes against Apple's iOS, trades at 20 times expected earnings and 13-year old Tesla Motors (TSLA.O) trades at 132 times earnings.
There's always the possibility of a surprisem, like a brand new gadget or accessory.
